Hawkeye Season 2 Reportedly in Development

According to entertainment insider MyTimeToShineHello on X, Marvel Studios under their newly formatted Marvel Television banner is developing a second season of Hawkeye. Per the scooper, Clint’s brother, Barney, will play a major role, and the season will be inspired by The Raid, with Kate and Clint stuck in one location.

For those who do not follow the comics, Barney, Clint’s older brother, is an antagonist to the avenger. He is a highly trained former FBI agent and is a proficient marksman, exceptional athlete, and skilled hand-to-hand combatant with incredible reflexes. He was later trained by Buck Chisholm, the same man who trained Hawkeye, to become a highly skilled archer displaying uncanny accuracy. He would become known as Trickshot. As Trickshot, Barney uses a variety of razor-sharp arrows, including trick arrows such as explosive arrows and bola arrows.

Despite that, immediately following its release, the show was submitted for Emmy consideration in the “Limited Series” categories, which suggests that Marvel Studios may not have intended to continue with the show. That said, things can change.

The potential renewal of Hawkeye for a second season faces uncertainty regarding production due to Jeremy Renner’s recent snowplow mishap. At the start of 2023, news surfaced about the actor sustaining severe injuries while trying to prevent his snow-clearing vehicle from colliding with his nephew. As detailed in a CNN report, Renner was pulled beneath the vehicle’s track and run over during his efforts to halt or divert the Pistenbully. Although Renner survived the harrowing incident, it necessitated two surgeries and a two-week stay in an intensive care unit.

By January 2024, nearly a year post-accident, Renner had made notable progress in his recovery journey, even relearning how to walk after enduring fractures in 30 bones. However, his recuperation still presents a significant ongoing challenge.
