Marvel’s former star writer Beau DeMayo, known for his work on Moon Knight and early drafts of the upcoming Blade revamp, made a significant contribution to the animated sequel series X-Men ’97. Despite the show’s imminent debut on Disney+, Marvel has unexpectedly cut ties with DeMayo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel recently deactivated DeMayo’s company email and his Instagram account, which provided updates on the X-Men series, has also been deactivated.
No explanation has been given for these actions, and neither Marvel nor DeMayo has commented on the situation.
This news broke just one day before the Hollywood premiere of the show.
This isn’t the first time a prominent figure has been released from Marvel, as less than a year ago Victoria Alonso was also let go before reaching a settlement following legal threats.
