The developers are still “aiming to launch by end of summer.”
Vampire Survivors was announced for PlayStation platforms back in April, with a release planned for summer. As July comes to a close, fans have been concerned about missing the release window. The developer’s social media has been flooded with questions about the progress on the PS4 and PS5 versions. However, a delay is not likely as Poncle has stated they are still aiming for a summer launch and will provide updates as progress continues. While not a specific release date, more information should be coming soon.
This is the second update Poncle has given about the PlayStation version in the past month. In June, they mentioned that the process was taking longer due to it being their first time going through PlayStation’s submission processes. They have also been working on Trophies to ensure they are correct.
Vampire Survivors received critical acclaim upon its 2022 launch. The unique mix of roguelike and shoot ’em up elements attracted a dedicated audience, with ongoing free and paid updates keeping players engaged. After releasing on PC, the game made its way to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. An Apple Arcade version was recently announced, with the PlayStation release being the last major platform. Understandably, fans are eager for its arrival on PlayStation.
While the anticipation for Vampire Survivors on PlayStation is understandable, it’s important to remember that Poncle is a small developer, so things take longer to complete. Hopefully, the wait will be worthwhile, and the PlayStation version will be just as enjoyable as the others.
