This includes deft disguises, a cold moral compass, and precise killer instincts.

Based on Frederick Forsyth’s acclaimed 1971 novel, The Day of the Jackal is set to debut this fall as a Peacock original series. It follows Redmayne’s high-level assassin, known as “the Jackal,” as he faces off against the equally cunning British intelligence officer Bianca, played by Lashana Lynch.

To amp up the thrill-seeking audience, Peacock has unveiled a wealth of new series information, including a first-look teaser and still images.
The Day of the Jackal is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Peacock on Thursday, November 7, streaming as a 10-part series. Redmayne and Lynch serve as executive producers, with Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant from Downton Abbey also on the producing team.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Redmayne and Lynch discuss playing complex antagonists with intricate moral compasses who engage in nefarious deeds. They are drawn to and repelled by each other in equal measure.
Lynch hints at a potentially epic clash between the characters, attributing their on-screen chemistry to shared gym sessions behind the scenes.
