Fans of the Fallout series can now download a new game for free, thanks to Amazon Prime.
A spin-off game from the Fallout franchise is currently being offered for free to some players. There are specific requirements that Fallout fans must meet in order to take advantage of this offer. Firstly, they need to have an Amazon Prime subscription, as the offer is part of Prime Gaming. Additionally, the game is only available for download until April 24. Once claimed, the game will be permanently added to the player’s library, but they must redeem the offer before the deadline.
Another important detail is that since the offer is through Prime Gaming, it only provides PC codes. However, the game being offered is exclusive to PC, so there are no console alternatives available. The game in question is Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, originally released in 2001.
Fallout Tactics is a turn-based real-time tactical role-playing game developed by Micro Forte, a now defunct studio. Although set in the Fallout universe, it is not directly connected to the storyline of other games in the series. Nevertheless, elements of its lore have persisted throughout the franchise.
Upon its initial release, Fallout Tactics received a Metacritic score of 82, indicating a positive reception. However, the game debuted during a time when gaming was less mainstream, resulting in modest sales of around 300,000 units. Despite this, the game has left a lasting impact on the Fallout series.
An official description of the game reads, \”Tactical Squad-Based Combat comes to the Fallout Universe. You are the wretched refuse. You may be born from dirt, but we will forge you into steel. You will learn to bend; if not you, will you break. In these dark times, the Brotherhood ā€“ your Brotherhood ā€“ is all that stands between the rekindled flame of civilization and the howling, radiated wasteland. Your weapons will become more than your tools, they will become your friends. You will use your skills to inspire the lowly and protect the weak… whether they like it or not. Your squadmates will be more dear to you than your kin and for those that survive there will be honor, respect and the spoils of war.\”
