The rumor mill is churning once again. Then again, it never really stops, does it? Be that as it may, fans are crossing their fingers for this one: a live-action Moon Knight and Punisher meeting.
Nearly two decades since Iron Man kicked off the MCU, Marvel Studios is still the most influential factor in the stock market that is comic book collecting and investing. Whenever someone from the studio mentions any potential character or plot threads, it sends comic buyers to the auction sites. Two years ago, Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac had named the Punisher as a character he’d like to see interact with Marc Spector. More recently, there has been talk online of the pair meeting in the not-so-distant future.
In recent years, the internet has fallen in love with Moon Knight. Well before the Disney Plus show, MK was the subject of various memes that helped him generate a broader following. It just so happened that Punisher was thrown into the mix with a Frank/MK meme that is still making the rounds.
At first glance, the two characters couldn’t seem more different. After all, Moon Knight typically deals with more paranormal threats, which would make him more akin to Blade than Punisher. However, with both Moon Knight and Punisher being street level vigilantes in New York City, they were bound to cross paths. That first occurred in Punisher Annual #2, which will be the first key to get a bump from the gossip.
If you’re looking to grab one, there are copies available. For those interested in rolling the dice on a raw copy, those have typically sold for less than $10 on eBay. The graded varieties are still quite affordable. The last 9.8 to trade hands online sold for $70 in February.
