There are so many awesome variants that I could list here but I wanted to stick to some of the rare comic book variants from this year It seems easy enough to find the popular variants with the way the market has come down so we will focus are the extremely hard to find. Another way you could put it is, these are out of my price range for a modern comic. However, modern comics wonā€™t always be so modern. If you are alive long enough to see the impact of what some of these modern comics will do I think we all be pleased. People didnā€™t think the comics in the 50ā€™s and 60ā€™s were going to be valuable either. Without further rambling here are this year’s rarest comics in my opinion.
Batman Spawn McFarlane Foil Edition from SDCC ā€“ A 9.9 sold recently for $1,126. Might be a good idea to try and find a couple clean copies and get them graded.
Amazing Spider-Man #26 Bryā€™s Comics Exclusive Virgin Variant by Del Otto ā€“ They limited this one to 20 copies worldwide which makes this an extremely rare comic book variant. A 9.8 sold for $4,500 recently.Ā I would go take out a loan for one of these but at only 20 copies (if they legitimately destroyed the rest) this would make it the rarest of 2023. Hopefully we donā€™t see them in Walmart packs in 2024.
Transformers #1 Skybound Ashcan ā€“ There is both a color and black and white of this ashcan. It was only sold at SDCC and should be a must have for all transformers fans.
Batman #1 Gold Foil Facsimile ā€“ This one was limited to only 150 copies and looks really cool.
Rarest Variant Covers from 2023
The Amazing Spider-Man #1 – Salvador Larroca – Eminem Spotlight – Probably one of my favorites that I was unable to get my hands on. I was ready when it dropped but didn’t stand a chance. To have it signed by Eminem as well is crazy.
